I am in the process of designing and making some vintage inspired curtains and tiebacks and I need to purchase fabric. I need to know what colour curtains would you choose for your lounge and bedroom. My design will appeal to lovers of shabby chic and they will be pretty rather than grand. I dont want to go buy the wrong colour fabric and get off on the wrong foot! Thank you very much to all those who take the time to answer.

your pale colors would be the best, antique whites, rich creams, pale pinks,greens, and blues. Try a chenille fabric, or something with a small print like tiny rose buds. Remember Shabby Chic is muted and almost worn looking, not bold or loud. Hope this helps.
